Priorities of the Ministry

  • Intensifying corporate deleveraging, which is the basic prerequisite for reviving the economy, where greater bank activity is necessary.
  • Simplifying procedures (VEM – one-stop shop) so that businesses can carry out the greatest possible number of administrative duties involving the state at one place.
  • Promoting exports and Slovenia’s international competitiveness and defining measures to promote Slovenian value chains and inclusion into global value chains, promoting inward and outward investment, the formation of business clusters and networks enabling more effective entry to foreign markets.
  • Continuing privatisation processes, which must be monitored and strategically conceived and based on a strategy and the classification of investments judged on a case-to-case basis through clear criteria considering the social and economic effects of individual cases.
  • Structural overhaul of the corporate sector and lowering business contributions to establish conditions for a gradual reduction on labour-related costs, enabling greater cost competitiveness of the Slovenia economy through green budget reform, while improving the state of the environment.
  • Promoting foreign investment.
