Priorities of the Ministry

  • Establishing a stimulating employment environment: promoting greater flexicurity in order for the employment contracts to be concluded and terminated more easily, while establishing a safe and predictable working environment for workers (legal and social security).
  • Reduce age segmentation in the labour market in accordance with EU recommendations, as groups of population are in exceedingly unequal positions.
  • Striving to reduce the number of people below the poverty line by promoting employment and work in all age groups, and a simple, transparent and fair implementation of all forms of assistance, simplifying procedures and distributing available resources in accordance with the principles of solidarity and fairness.
  • Concluding a social agreement for the 2014-2018 period in accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission.
Strengthening control of the implementation of measures for employing the young and extending their validity.
  • Providing support for young job seekers already during the termination notice period and improving mechanisms supporting active first employment seekers by improving the competences of people authorised to resolve the issues of young unemployed people.
  • Strengthening the policy of equal opportunities for both genders by adopting a national programme to promote gender equality by 2020 and measures to prevent and eliminate discrimination.
  • Drawing up a long-term strategy to meet demographic challenges for persons needing long-term care and assistance, comprehensively regulating the system of long-term care.
  • Finding resources that are sustainable in the long term and adapted to demographic changes in order to ensure decent pensions, accessible services and assistance.
