Will you do something good for the Earth?

Over the last ten years our climate has changed more quickly than we expected. The biggest enemy for the climate is greenhouse gas emissions, which are causing temperatures on Earth to rise. Slovenia is working to reduce emissions, with the result that these were 8.2% lower in 2015 than in 2013.

The main theme of this year's Earth Day is environmental and climate literacy. This is not only intended to create green voters and speed up environmental and climate legislation and policies, it also aims to accelerate the introduction of environmentally friendly technology and the creation of green jobs.

Let us not forget, the Earth is our common home, and its future depends on all of us. This is also why incentives and discussions about environmentally friendly mobility from the point of view of the vision of Slovenia as a green reference country in a digital Europe are extremely important.

"Not just 22 April but every day is an excellent opportunity for us all to think about how we can do more to protect the environment and our precious natural resources," said Prime Minister Miro Cerar on Earth Day. Perhaps we can take advantage of just such an opportunity this Saturday, when we also celebrate World Car-Free Day, by using our bicycles instead of our cars.
