In the National University Library in Ljubljana, Minister Dr Žekš, a keynote speaker, opened an exhibition entitled “Boris Pahor, The Border as a Fate”.
The exhibition is a part of a main event dedicated to the Slovenian Cultural Day, organized by the National University Library, which is entitled “The Slovenian Cultural Day with Boris Pahor”.
At 18.00, before the opening of the exhibition, a conversation with Boris Pahor was held in the main reading room. The writer Drago Jančar moderated the conversation.
The academic Pahor talked about his life from the point of view of a member of Slovenian minority living in Italy and his relation to the border, which is the main theme of the exhibition. Pahor was also contemplating on the future of the Slovenian identity and the Slovenian language.
During the cultural programme that followed the opening, Katja Konvalinka, an excellent singer, and Igor Seme, a piano player, performed.
